Mobile Computers for DeliveryPoD

We can move our DeliveryPoD software to the Mobile Computer of your choice provided it has a 2D Barcode Reader and Microsoft Operating System (Windows CE 5 upwards or Windows Mobile 5 upwards). Today, we are selling the Psion EP10 as our main unit as it is such excellent value for money (large scree for signatures, rugged enough for most environments, 2D imaager, colour camera, Wireless LAN and 3G for well below £1000 end user).

We intend adding the Psion Neo to the portfolio of products in Spring 2012 as it provides a lower cost option for customers that do not require a large screen for signature capture. In general we are moving to Psion as we are finding their excellent support and great value products a difficult combination to turn down.

We still supply Honeywell products to our customers that already have our systems installed with Honeywell hardware.

Barcode Printers

Apart from Mobile Printers (which require proprietary coding) we produce our software so that it is printer vendor independent. In the parcel tracking arena it is quite common to deploy shipping label software to a high number of small sites. This may mean using a standard printer that the organisation already has (inkjet, laser etc) or putting in a dedicated barcode printer. If you do put a barcode printer in, it may well be the only one on site, so the ability to temporarily put a standard printer in its place can be important in the unlikely event of the barcode printer failing or running out of labels!

There are many good vendors of barcode printers on the market and provided they have a standard Windows print driver, our software should work with then just fine.. We ourselves work with Zebra Technologies and test our software on their Desktop, Industrial and Mobile Printers. In our experience these printers have been very reliable in the field and we have enjoyed excellent support from Zebra Technologies in the UK.
